Let’s give you an example

Imagine you have just decided to give Etsy a go and you're looking for the perfect product evergreen product to sell - or you're already a seasoned seller looking for the next big thing that can help scale your business. Product Seeker has a lot of search options to help you explore Etsy's marketplace and help you find your next potential product.

So, if you're looking to start selling jewelry - or you want an addition to your existing selection - start by customizing your search.

Customizing your search

To ensure you get the most out of this tool, it's important to know how the different filters work. Filters are one of the most important parts of your search and you have the option to customize as many filters as you like. It is helpful to start with a broader search criteria and narrow it down as you look through the list of products.

Note: You do not need to enter any filter, however by using the smart filters, you'll be able to uncover winning product ideas based on your exact needs, niche, and preferences.

Keyword field

The keyword field ("Search for a product") enables you to search for products based on keywords. This can help you find specific products you are looking for, like jewelry. By entering one or more keywords, your search result will include listings that have your keyword(s) included in the title or tags.

Sales

  • Sales (Monthly): Choose the minimum and maximum estimated monthly sales for the results of your search.

  • Sales (All time): Choose the minimum and maximum estimated total sales for the results of your search.

Revenue

  • Revenue (Monthly): This filter allows you to enter the estimated minimum and maximum monthly revenue for a product.

  • Revenue (All time): This filter allows you to enter the estimated minimum and maximum total revenue for a product.

Price

Set the minimum and maximum listing price of items you want to see in your search results. Note: The price needs to be set in USD, while the price will appear in the local currency for search results.

Categories

The category represents all the main categories and sub-categories on the Etsy marketplace. By selecting one or more categories, only products from the selected categories will be included in your search results. Products from unselected categories will be excluded.

Reviews

  • Review count: The minimum and maximum number of reviews a listing has received. If you select a count, only products within that count will be included in your search results.

  • Review rate: The minimum and maximum review rate a listing has received. If you select a rate, only products within that rate will be included in your search results.

  • Review score: The average number of stars a listing has received. You can select multiple options at once. If you select a score, only products within that score will be included in your search results.

Details

You have the option to filter by product characteristics. When listing a product on Etsy, you have the option to choose characteristics like when it's made, category, if it's personalized, and more. The details filter enables you to further narrow your search based on this.

  • Listing age (days): The minimum and maximum number of days a listing has been active, since the original creation date. If you select an age, only products within that age will be included in your search result.

  • Item type: Filter by handmade or vintage. You can only select one option at a time. Etsy enables you to select vintage or handmade under the "About this listing" field.

  • Personalized items: This refers to the personalization option on Etsy. If you select this option, only items that are customizable will be included in your search results.

  • Item format: Filter by digital or physical items. You can only select one option at a time. If you select "digital items" your search will include only digital items and exclude all physical items.

  • Item classification: Filter by finished product or supply or tool. Supply or tool are products, tools, ingredients, or materials whose primary purpose is for the creation of an item or special occasion.

Shops

  • Shop name: The name of the shop you are interested in viewing.

  • Shop location: The country the seller of an item is located in. By selecting a country only sellers from that country and their products will be included in your search results.

Search results

Once you hit that search button, we'll connect to Etsy's database and identify listings that match your search criteria. Say you're still looking for products in the jewelry category, then your search result might look a little something like this.

Note: 25 listings are loaded by default. If your search is able to generate more than 25 search results, you will have the option to click on a "load more" button on the bottom of the table.

Product Table View

To easily sort, export, and filter products you can switch to Table View for a more efficient research experience.

From here, you have several options to further customize and review your search results more easily.

  • Sort: Clicking on the sort button lets you sort the search results by your selected metric.

  • Filter: This lets you filter on specific needs and add filter grouping or rules.

  • Columns: This lets you pick and rearrange the metrics you want to be shown in the table.

  • Export: By selecting one, multiple, or all listings, you can export your results to a CSV file.

Let's take a closer look at how these options work.

Columns

To adjust the metrics visible in this list, simply click on columns and rearrange the order by dragging metrics up and down.

If you want to hide a metric, simply click on the eye icon and it will be moved to “Hidden columns”. Similarly, if you want a hidden metric to be visible, simply click on the eye icon and drag it to where you want it to be placed. Once you're satisfied with your selection, you can easily scroll sideways to look through all the metrics.

Filters

To adjust the list to filter on specific needs, you can use the filter option. You can filter by any metric, even those who are not visible on your list.

Let’s say you want to focus on personalized jewelry; simply click on “Filter”, search, or click on Personalization required, select “contains” and add “Yes” as the value. As soon as you input the value, you'll notice the data updates instantly to show only relevant listings.

You can also add a “filter rule”, change between “and” or “or”, or add a “filter group”.
A filter group works as multiple filters in one.

Sort

If you want to sort listings based on a specific metric, you can either click directly on the metric to sort descending, ascending, or back to normal. Or you can use the sort option from the action menu and add additional sorting.

Save and export listings

To save or export one or more listings, you can select them by checking the box next to the listing name and clicking “Save” or "Export". Alternatively, you can click on the heart icon at the far right to quickly save a listing to your list of saved items.

To view all saved listings click here, or click on “View list” in the pop-up that appears when you select a listing and click “save”. This will redirect you to Research Saver which collects all your favorite keywords, listings, and shops for easy access.

Finally, you can also delve deeper into each listing with our sophisticated analyzer, Listing Report, by clicking on a listing. This report lets you discover key areas of improvement and leverage this knowledge to optimize your listing's performance.
